Former local professor to sign books

Lawrence Weill will be signing copies of his novel Incarnate at Wild Fig Bookstore in Meadowthorpe in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday, January 18th from 2-5.  Dr. Weill was associate professor of humanities and chair of the humanities division at what was then Lexington Community College.  He taught at LCC until he was named Dean of Academic Affairs at Hopkinsville Community College.  He served in this position until accepting the presidency of Gordon College in Georgia in 2002.

Incarnate tells the story of a woman who suffers from the delusion her seven-year-old son is Christ incarnate and decides to act upon that belief, turning her family upside down.  It was released last year from BlackWyrm Publishing of Louisville.

Hey Lar, Terri & I will come see you Sat. Read the synopsis of “Incarnate” on line & wondered if it was some kind of “Therapy” for you. When I read the online review I recalled the accounts you related to me about your early childhood and your mom.. You have done well (life/career) and I am looking forward to our visit Saturday. Jennie going to be there?

I wouldn’t say therapy, because I don’t really feel I had unresolved issues, but it is a fictionalized account of events that really did happen. Because they were such remarkable events, they made for a story I wanted to tell, a story I thought readers would find engaging.

Yes, Jennie will definitely be there! Looking forward to seeing you, my friend.
