PRESS RELEASE FOR MSU PRESENTATION
Dr. Lawrence Weill will be speaking at Murray State University and signing copies of his novel Incarnate on February 19, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in Faculty 208. Dr. Weill’s talk, sponsored by The Free Thinkers Society, will center on the disparate philosophical beliefs employed by the protagonist in his novel.
Incarnate is the story of a mother and wife who comes to believe her seven-year-old son is the reincarnation of Christ through her reliance on such belief systems as astromancy, augury, the tarot, druidism, the Kabbalah, Rosicrucianism, and more. Told from her viewpoint as well as the viewpoints of her children and her husband, the novel provides insight into what occurs as a result of her delusions and her decision to act upon them.
Dr. Weill will discuss the various philosophies that he uses in the novel and what they entail, as well as why he chose them. The event is free and open to the public.
The Murray State University Bookstore will sell copies of the novel immediately after the talk. Dr. Weill will be available to sign books.
Lawrence Weill taught philosophy and ethics over the course of his 37 years in higher education, as well as serving as an academic dean and a college president. He holds degrees in mathematics, humanities, and philosophy of education and has both taught and taken courses at Murray State.
